On 5.3.2019, our beneficiaries, who are hosted in the apartments of Caritas Hellas/Caritas Athens, under the Urban Accommodation program-part of ESTIA had the pleasure of meeting in person the Afghan author and activist Gulwali Passarlay.
During the discussion, which took place in the social services office of Caritas Athens, our beneficiaries had the opportunity to share with him their personal experiences from their journey, the daily difficulties which they encounter, and their integration efforts in Greece.
Mr. Passarlay presented his autobiography ‘The Lightless Sky. An Afghan Refugee Boy’s Journey of Escape to a New Life in Britain’, in which he describes his own journey to safety, and shared a message of hope for a better future to his compatriots.
The activity took place in the context of the “Urban Shelter Program”, implemented by Caritas Hellas in co-operation with Catholic Relief Services (CRS), under the scheme of “ESTIA Program” of UNHCR.
