On Friday the 14th of December refugee families, living in Caritas Hellas’ shelter, visited the Museum of Education!
The pupils explored with enthusiasm the space around the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens -where the Museum is housed- and got in touch with the cultural heritage of the Sector of Education. The excursion in the Museum, “traveled” the little visitors in the past, provide them with lots of interesting information about the history of school and also gave them the chance to identify similarities and differences between the school of the “past” and the school of “today”!
While the young refugees were having a nice time full of creative activities, the parents who accompanied them, had the opportunity to “discover” the University as well as to interact with each other, while drinking a cup of tea!
The visit took place in the context of the “Urban Shelter Program”, implemented by Caritas Hellas in co-operation with Catholic Relief Services (CRS), under the scheme of “ESTIA Program” of UNHCR.
