Celebration For International Women’s Day
In Social-Spot Caritas Hellas in Neos Kosmos, the International Women’s Day-8 March was celebrated. The day started with an introductory video which shown women who fight every day for their rights. Afterwards, the job counsellor, Mara Kourtoglou, did a small presentation about the history and the deeper meaning of that. Afterwards, a representative from “Alma Zois” organization and gave information about the work of the organization, the breast cancer, her personal experience and a discussion for this issue followed. Then, a short length video presented, regarding women who have made important inventions. The interactive games that followed showed that there are many great women who helped science evolve and the similarities that the participants had with them. In the end and the participants gave, with the occasion of the carnival and the Ash Monday, crafts, such as carnival masks and hats, hand-funs and kites, were made by the women who seemed to enjoy a lot.

The activity is part of the «METAVASIS Project – Participation, Empowerment and Social Inclusion of Refugees / Migrants in Greece» concerning the support and integration of refugees and immigrants in Greek society. The Project is run by Caritas Hellas and is funded by Caritas Germany.
