On Tuesday, the 11th of December, the Center for Social Integration and Employability of Caritas Hellas in Kypseli (Fokionos Negri 42) was festively decorated to welcome its students and all the people in the neighborhood of Kypseli who wanted to share with us the beautiful atmosphere of the days ! !
Through Christmas activities of social inclusion and informal learning of the Greek language, the participants interacted with friends, staff and volunteers of Caritas Hellas and they learned even better the secrets of the Greek language. Scrabble, “Kremala” and many board games were the very special guests of the day, while with great love, children and adults created Christmas cards with wishes that decorated our tree! Of course, the traditional delicacies, the “kourabiedes” and the “melomakarona” couldn’t be absent ! People of all ages celebrated the coming of Christmas, and by speaking Farsi, Arabic, French, Greek, Lingala and Italian, they discovered the message of the feastfull days with many games, laughter and dancing!
We hope that this was only a good start for the new Social Spot of Caritas Hellas in Kypseli …and that the best is yet to come, with even more reasons to celebrate together in 2019! Happy Feasts and Happy New Year!
The event is part of the Program “Social and Economic Integration of Refugees and Immigrants in Athens” concerning the support and integration of refugees and immigrants in Greek society. The Program is implemented by Caritas Hellas and is funded by Caritas Switzerland.
The event was held at the Center for Social Integration and Employability
of Caritas Hellas, in the Kypseli Municipal Market.
