Group session on “Training for a Job Interview”

Training for a Job Interview

On Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at the Center for Social Inclusion and Employability of Caritas Hellas in Kypseli, a group session for the Mobilization of the Unemployed population was conducted by the job counselling services. The aim was to strengthen and develop the necessary knowledge and skills of the participants to meet the ever-increasing demands of job research. The workshop was conducted in Greek, with interpretation in Farsi.

More specifically the workshop dealt with the following topics:

  • Job search techniques
  • Drawing up a Curriculum Vitae and a motivation letter
  • Preparing for the job interview

The abovementioned fields of discussion aimed at informing participants about constructive ways of looking for work and especially how they can use social network pages towards that specific effort. In addition, as part of the encouragement provided to the population, in order to smoothly integrate into the labor market, the second part focused on the CV writing and the preparation for a successful staff selection interview. During the workshop, an interview simulation was conducted, giving interviewers the opportunity to participate in a role-playing activity (interviewer/employer – interviewee/candidate). Through the experiential nature of this action, we are targeting the greatest mobilization and job readiness of the participants.

The seminar is part of the Program “Social and Economic Integration of Refugees and Immigrants in Athens” concerning the support and integration of refugees and immigrants in Greek society. The Program is implemented by Caritas Hellas and is funded by Caritas Switzerland.
