On February 12th, at the Center for Social Inclusion and Employability of Caritas Hellas in Kipseli, the laboratory of mobilization of the unemployed population took place, as part of the group sessions of the job counselling service. The laboratory was conducted with the aim of empowering and developing the necessary skills and knowledge of the participants, in order to encourage their job search.
More specifically, the workshop covered the following topics:
- Job search techniques
- Drawing up a Curriculum Vitae and an accompanying letter
- Preparing for a staff selection interview
The above topics of discussion focused on informing participants about constructive ways of looking for a job and especially how they can use social networking pages towards that goal. In addition, aiming at encouraging them to smoothly integrate into the labor market, in the second part of the workshop focus was given on CV writing and the preparation for a successful staff selection interview.
During the workshop, an interview simulation was conducted, giving the attendees the opportunity to participate in a role-playing activity (interviewer / employer – interviewee / candidate). Through the experiential nature of this action, we aim at the greater mobilization and working readiness of participants as well as the cultivation of other useful skills.
The workshop was conducted in Greek with simultaneous interpretation in French.
The seminar is part of the Program “Social and Economic Integration of Refugees and Immigrants in Athens” concerning the support and integration of refugees and immigrants in Greek society. The Program is implemented by Caritas Hellas and is funded by Caritas Switzerland.
