On Thursday, June 6, the Center for Social Integration and Employability of Caritas Hellas in Kipseli hosted an event on the ending of the period of Ramadan in the Municipal Market of Fokionos Negri. One goal of the event was to mobilize the guests of Caritas Hellas shelters living in Kypseli but also in other neighborhoods to get acquainted with the events and activities in the neighborhood of Kipseli and especially those of the Social Center of Caritas Hellas in the area of the more targeted integration into the field of employment.
The served population of Caritas Hellas appeared early in Kipseli, enthusiastically helping with the preparation processes.
The event started with activities for children and adults. Board games, musical chairs, balloon hunt …! And all this was accompanied by the rhythms of traditional music from Syria, Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran, Jordan …
Of course, the traditional dishes and treats cooked by the families living in the shelters couldn’t be missing. Everyone had a great time at the event, and with a nice company they enjoyed some hours of relaxation!
The event is part of the Program “Social and Economic Integration of Refugees and Immigrants in Athens” concerning the support and integration of refugees and immigrants in Greek society. The Program is implemented by Caritas Hellas and is funded by Caritas Switzerland.
