The opening of Caritas Training-Congress Center was conducted the 31st of January in Freiburg of Germany. Caritas Germany carry out twice a year a Visual Exhibition where various artists participate. More than 80 people have visited the Congress Center at the opening, where the Head of Caritas Germany Training- Congress Center, Wilfried Eberweiser, opened the exhibition with a laudatory speech in which he introduced all the artists and described in detail the charitable work of Caritas Hellas.
This time the Visual Exhibition in Freiburg presented Caritas Hellas’ Photo Exhibition “Athens, my City…”, where the work of the photography class of the Social Spot of Caritas Hellas in Neos Kosmos was presented. The group was consisted of 28 refugees and asylum seekers aged between 16 and 41 from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Ukraine, Pakistan and Ghana.
The twenty-eight participants were introduced to the secrets of the art of photography, offering images of the city of Athens through the “lens” of their own culture and their own experiences.
The photos were part of the «METAVASIS» Project – Participation, Empowerment and Social Inclusion of Refugees / Migrants in Greece «concerning the support and integration of refugees and immigrants in Greek society. The Program was funded by the German Foreign Ministry and Caritas Germany.
